Apple Crumb Pie


Prep Notes

Apple Pie ... do you like a pastry crust or crumb?  I like both, but I love easy, and this is easy!!!

The crust and topping are the same crust you make in the food processer and the topping is by hand..

No rolling out crust you press it into your pie plate >>thats my kind of easy.

I also love to mix apples 4 granny smith and 3-4 (depending on size) honey crisp. 

They both have different flavors and textures so together in this pie is perfection.

Ingredients


Filling

6-8 apples cored and cubed

zest and juice of 1 lemon

1 tablespoons arrowroot

2 tablespoons raw honey

1-2 teaspoons cinnamon

pinch sea salt

Crust

1 cup gluten-free oats

1/2 cups walnuts  (chopped optional)

1/2 cup almond flour

1/4 cup extra virgin coconut oil

1/4 cup maple syrup

1 teaspoon cinnamon

inch sea salt

 Crumble Topping

1 cup gluten-free oats

1/2 cup pecans chopped or walnuts (optional)

1/2 almond flour

1/4 cup real maple syrup

1/4 cup extra -virgin coconut oil 

1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

pinch sea salt

Directions

PREHEAT OVEN 375'

Crust

In food processer add rolled oats, almond flour, coconut oil, maple syrup, cinnamon and walnuts and process until smooth. 

Press mixture into your pie plate and freeze until ready to bake.

Topping 

In a small bowl mix together ( i use my hands)  rolled oats, nuts, almond flour, coconut oil, maple syrup, and sea salt, set aside.

Filling

Toss cubed apple about 1/2 inch, honey, zest and juice of 1 lemon, 2 tablespoon honey, arrow root, cinnamon, sea salt. Mix so all apples are coated.

Assemble 

remove pie plate from freezer. Pour apple mixture encluding all the juice . Using your hands again place toppng over apple pressing down gently. Place on rimed baking sheet pan in the middle shelf in oven. Bake for 20.mins on 375 than lower to 350.

Keep your eye on the pie so the topping doesnt burn.. You can use alumimum foil and tent it ..

When pies juices are bubbling and top is golden browm she finish.

Cool before serving (or not ) its all up to you!!!
