Fermented foods help fight off disease: Approximately 80% of your immune system is in your gut. Feed it badly you let disease-triggering inflammation in like IBS,(gas, bloating, constipation etc.) in. When your gut is weak its really easy to get a cold even the flu. When you introduce good bacteria into your gut (fermented foods) you crush, stomp, the disease triggering inflammation. Ways to add fermented foods: toss some fermented beets into your salad, blend them in your smoothie and my favorite Avacado stuffed with Kimchi.
